I agree with you completely.

Whether I read comments depends entirely on my state of mind, for sometimes I can weather any sort of comment and sometimes I feel like telling anyone calling me out to fuck off. Somehow the opinions of strangers can have an oddly disproportionate affect on a writer’s mood and well-being, as well as his ability to write.

Responding to all comments in a positive way, whether they’re positive comments or not, is ultimately beneficial — this is what Genius Turner does; he reads, claps and responds to everything, and that kind of interaction truly helps his readers feel connected to him. But it can be so hard to do.

Perhaps I need to develop a thicker skin, then I’ll be able to read any comment, any time 😄
